Hmph. So that's our "team leader"...

[she saw that Adlet talked to Ox too, so.]

[ hey there! he has a smile for that hmph, though it fades to a thoughtful look at the question. ]

Hmm...well they seemed pretty trustworthy to me, and eager to help. I wish they gave more specifics though. [ he'll believe because that's just who he is. still, there's a thought or two in his head behind it all. ]

What about you?

I'm not that quick to trust people. Especially when they won't even show their faces or use their real names.

week 1; monday

[ whenever adlet spots her after she's free from jail. ]

Welcome back! How was it?

How do you think? It sucked.

[from her demeanor, it looks like it sucked enough for her to complain about it, but not enough for her to look particularly distressed over the experience. she probably needs a shower, though.]

Anything happen while I was gone?

Hey, I've been in jail before. It was pretty boring but not terrible.

Nothing much over here, it was pretty quiet with two more of you gone though.

[ their dorm needs to stop shrinking? even if its only temporary. ]

Week 1, Saturday

[we're both outside, getting some air after a long trial.]

Ugh.

[that's rita's review of the day's experience.]

[ he's on the ground with his back to a wall, knees drawn up. adlet just sighs. ]

I have a headache.

You're lucky you're still going to have a head, considering you were pretty high on a few suspect lists for a minute there.

week 2; precurfew

[ in their dorm in the afternoon: ]

...it's Thursday again.

[ dumbly, but. it's a mood. ]

[let's say it's after cyoa returns. rita's just kind of buzzing with anxious tension.]

... Someone's going to do something stupid again. I'm sure of it.

Week 2, Friday

[Rita just went off somewhere after they investigated the bookstore together. lmao bye.


...... but later she's at the Ox dorm, sitting on a couch in the common area, studying her notebook. the newspaper's been set down on a table in front of her; she's seen the reports.]

[querencias]

[ that's valid, adlet had some scouting and other things to do too. he'll wave when he sees her and come over to sit on the couch, though he doesn't encroach her space. ]

Hey.

[ a long pause. ]

Nya.

Week 2, Saturday

[rizomata]

[Rita takes off for a bit to cool off, then comes back to the dorm a little later. And just angrily slams her notebook down on the table.]

That stupid, scummy, braindead piece of...!

[Oh, I lied, she hasn't cooled down much at all.

But if she sees Adlet, she'll stop seething for a moment to look at him. How's he looking...?]

[ he walks in sometime after, heading straight to his room. stops when he hears her, smiles like everything is normal and nothing is Bad. ]

Braindead piece of what?

week 3; monday

[ welcome to adlet's room! there's zero effort paid to decoration or customization except for some reason there's a bunch of snail and shark plush all thrown into one heap in the corner? it's fine.

anyway, once they enter and the doors locked, adlet will turn around to face her. there's a breath, and he makes sure to meet her eyes. ]

About my power. It doesn't only work on just berries. You can turn any fruit into a bomb. Everything else I told you about it was true, no summoning more than three in an hour and I can't remote detonate them or anything like that.

[Rita gives him a long, displeased stare in return.]

... Anything else you've been lying to me about?

[ they both have to go back to the dorm before curfew right?]

I'm glad you're okay. [ she is free to refuse or just slap him in the face (please do) but just know he probably tried to grab her by the hand to bring her back to the dorm. ]

[ she does not let him because that's way too embarrassing, but fine he can walk her back. ]

... So am I.

[ because for a bit there, it really looked like she wasn't going to be. ]

Week 3, Friday

[ at the dorm, rita's sitting on the couch with a newspaper in front of her, looking deep in thought. maybe adlet can catch her as he comes back from showering. i hope he showered after swimming in the lake. "when did rita last shower?" don't worry about it. ]

[querencias]

[ he absolutely did, yes. his hair is currently up in some ridiculous bun and he smells nice and clean✨. ]

...the news sucks today. [ he'll plop down next to her with a sigh. ]

Week 3, Saturday

[ It takes a while, and as the evening grows longer, it starts to look like Rita might not show up...

But then she does. She just walks up to Adlet's cell, glaring daggers at him. ]

What the hell is wrong with you?

[querencias]

[ i am still very sorry to say that he smiles at her. ]

I think you're gonna have to be a bit more specific? [ he laughs a little, sheepish. ]

I've been called crazy a lot.

Week 7, Tuesday

[ at some point, while everyone else is off busy with their own reunions or whatever they heck they do with their time, rita and adlet find themselves alone in the dorm common area.

rita's sitting on the couch, flipping through her notes, and after ignoring adlet for most of the evening, she finally gives him a glance. ]

So... what, you're a different person now or something?

[querencias]

[ he's a bit surprised by the question, and it shows in the brief flicker in his static emotions. ]

Saying it like that makes it sound like I forgot everything that happened or that I felt. [ he shifts in how he was where he was seated, writing some scribbles of his own. ]

Which I didn't. But I am just me without someone forcing beliefs and feelings down my throat. Without the extra thoughts in my head that were driving me insane.
