Creatures from Greek myths, like...

[...right. she's not from a world with greek myths.]

Well - you saw some of them, the Cynocephali? They're just one example of them. There were tons of types of creatures down in Tartarus, but that's where creatures like that re-form. They'll head up to the mortal world and wreak havoc on things... we'll disperse them as part of quests, or if they attack demigods or things like that, and they'll usually be gone for a while before coming back up again... it's a never-ending cycle.

A lot of mortals don't see them for what they are. Like - when I was ten, I got attacked by a flock of Stymphalian birds? ...but the mortal around us only saw them as really aggressive pigeons. But once you can see through the Mist, you can see them for what they really are and defend yourself from them.

It'd definitely be an interesting thing to study. I don't always get how it works myself, but children of Hecate are usually pretty good with it.

Or demigods who have studied with Hecate personally.

Yeah, it's definitely not impossible, I'd say? There are some mortals who are able to see through the Mist just fine - like, naturally. Not really sure why, though... they're just more predisposed to it than others.

But a huge part of it is like... perception. A lot of mortals just can't wrap their minds around the possibility of all the stuff from myths being real, so it's hard for them to break past that. Probably 'cause they've grown up being told it's fictional.
