I was wondering the same. I mean, how the heck did these people end up being "leaders" in this whole mess? Luck of the draw? Or maybe they've got some special arrangement. It's hard not to be suspicious of people who won't even show their faces.
Perhaps the easiest explanation is that they were here before us. They don't seem to want to volunteer any other information. I did ask about the mask and Goat said it was part of the competition.
